Michelle Marie Banner

January 17, 1973 — February 12, 2025

Moberly

Michelle Banner, age 52, of Moberly, MO, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

Michelle was born on January 17, 1973, in Columbia, MO, to Lyndon Frazier Phillips and Florence Marie Clark. She graduated from Salisbury High School in 1991 and from Sanford Brown College in 1995 with a degree in Vocational Nursing.

Michelle spent the beginning part of her healthcare career doing in-home care for the pediatric population. Her compassion for taking care of children shined so brightly as she made many lifelong connections throughout her career. She served many of the beloved local retirement homes, where she finally ended her career as a traveling nurse. Without a doubt, Michelle took immense pride in being a nurse; it’s what shaped her love, actions, and morals in her daily life.

Michelle enjoyed spending quality time with her children, sharing stories and laughing. She enjoyed being able to care for the countless people who have crossed her path in her healthcare journey. Her family and friends will always remember her for her selfless, loving heart. No matter what she went through, she always remained strong for her children, Magdalena and Javier.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyndon Frazier Phillips and Florence Marie Clark; siblings, Damen and Christopher Phillips; grandnephew, Peyton Phillips; and nephew, Shea Phillips.

Michelle is survived by her life partner, Antonio Banner, of San Diego, CA; daughter, Magdalena Banner, of Columbia, MO; son, Javier Banner, of Columbia, MO; sister, Theresa (David) Pegelow, of Salisbury, MO; brother, Daniel (Dawn) Phillips, of Madison, MO; nieces, Samantha (Scott) Kinder, of Moberly, MO, Jody (Larmy) Pugh, of Iowa, Kara (Jon) Michels, of Paris, MO; nephew, Jason Phillips (Erin Bratton), of Sedalia, MO; step nephews, Michael (Cheyenne) Pegelow, of Salisbury, MO, Chris (Janice) Pegelow, of Renick, MO, and Cody (Shalom) Phillips, of Bonne Terre, MO.

If desired, donations can be sent to the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), 3405 W. Truman Blvd, Ste 102, Jefferson City, MO 65109-5861.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
