Naomi B. Curtright, 110, of Macon, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Loch Haven in Macon, Missouri. Naomi was born December 4, 1908, in Madison, Missouri, to James and Maude (Mallory) Johnston on their family farm. She met Gene Curtright at a basketball game in high school and he wanted to marry her. She had a strong determination to graduate high school and agreed to marry him after that. They married on June 10, 1928, and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri for Gene's job. She worked for Jones Clothing Store for several years and spent most of her time as a housewife. She taught herself how to cook and bake and when she found a recipe she liked, she created her own cookbook. She really liked baking pies and cakes. After Gene's retirement, they moved back to the Moberly area. Naomi was a very active person, a member of a bowling team, enjoyed fishing and gardening. She is survived by a niece, Sandra Blomburg and husband Steve of Macon, Missouri; nephews: Keith Embree and wife Peggy of Madison, Missouri, and Don and Helen Embree of Clark, Missouri. A graveside funeral service will take place on Friday, October 4, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Madison, Missouri, under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Home.
