Naomi R. Thompson, 85, of Moberly, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Valley View Health and Rehab in Moberly, MO surrounded by her family. She was born September 30, 1931 in Moberly to Ralph Randolph Stinson and Clara Marie Hardwick Stinson. Naomi was a lifelong resident of Moberly and a member of Timberlake Christian Church. She was also a member of both the local Eagle and Moose Lodge. She was an avid reader (especially her Bible) and liked doing crossword puzzles and watching television. Naomi also enjoyed writing poetry and letters to her family. She had a warm smile and wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Those preceding Naomi in death are her parents; husband, Major Earl Thompson; and sister-in-law, Carol Wright. Survivors include her children, Vickie (Eric) Turner of Columbia, MO, Debbie Regan of Moberly, MO, Steve Wright of Columbia, MO, Kris (Ron) Gillespie of Cairo, MO, Dennis (Becky) Wright of Moberly, MO, Donna (Donnie) Lewis of Moberly, MO, Mike Wright of Moberly, MO and Angie (Randy) Easton of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Kimberly Wright of Columbia, MO, Michael (Ursula) Turner of Omaha, NE, Travis (Michele) Avery of Cairo, MO, Shawn (Alicia) Regan of Moberly, MO, Matt (Michelle) Wright of Columbia, MO, Faith Wright of Columbia, MO, Kristopher Prather of Cairo, MO, Brandy (Matt) Cook of Belton, MO, Dustin (Tanya) Wright of Moberly, MO, Joshua Wright of Greenwood, MO, Justin (Sara) Lewis of Fort Campbell, KY, Trenton Gibson of Columbia, MO and Brock Easton of Columbia, MO; Twenty-two great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sisters, Margaret Elaine Neese of Moberly, Mo and Mary Katherine (Jim) Coffman of Ripley, TN; extended family and friends. Services celebrating Naomi’s life will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held the same date from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions in Naomi’s memory are suggested to the American Lung Association, P O Box 7000, Albert Lea, MN 56007-8001.
