Peggy G. Winkler of Moberly, MO, passed away on June 18, 2022, at the age of 87.
Survivors include her loving husband, Bill Rummerfield, of the home, a son, Gerry Winkler (Debbie), of Mesa, AZ, two grandsons, Justin Winkler of Valrico, FL, and Brendon Winkler of Mesa, AZ, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Barbara Straub (Bob), of Grass Valley, CA, a niece, Susanne Bolin, of California, a nephew, Matthew Straub, of California, a niece, Kathy Ragsdale, of Fulton, MO, as well as several stepsons/stepdaughters and grandchildren. Peggy was born in Clifton Hill, MO, on September 30, 1934, to Henry and Cleo Sweezer.
She married Marion Otis Winkler in 1956 and they were married until his death in 1974. She worked for Southwestern Bell for many years and following her retirement, spent a lot of time traveling the world. One of her fondest memories was of her trip to Europe with her son in 1999. She also enjoyed reading novels and keeping a journal, and has an impressive collection of Elvis memorabilia. She enjoyed feeding and watching her backyard birds and squirrels. She and her husband, Bill, loved spending winter months in Arizona where they made many new friends from many different states.
A private graveside memorial will be held in October of this year. Donations may be made in Peggy’s name to the charity of your choice.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marion, her parents, her brother, Henry Jr. Sweezer, and several aunts and uncles. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
