Peter Ross Denslow, age 78, of Huntsville, MO, passed away on November 28, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital, Macon, MO.
Pete was born on January 21, 1944, in Kirksville, MO, to Dr. John Stedman Denslow and Mary Jane (Laughlin) Denslow.
He graduated from Kirksville High School and from the University of Missouri with a degree in Agriculture. Pete was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntsville, MO. He married Sherrie Doran on January 24, 1965, in Kirksville, MO.
Pete was raised on Thousand Hills Farm in Kirksville, where they had registered Angus cattle. He was also proud to be the great grandson of Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the founder of Osteopathic medicine.
Pete spent his life sharing his love for the outdoors with his friends and family. His career in agriculture, included all sorts of animals from raising and training quarter horses, registered Hereford cattle and even some goats. His time was spent with family and friends fishing, hunting, boating, and living life in its fullest. He was a loving husband, father, Grandpa, and friend.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John Stedman Denslow and Mary Jane (Laughlin) Denslow; a brother, Michael Denslow; and sister, Marty Van O’Linda Wadlin.
Pete is survived by his wife, Sherrie Denslow, Huntsville, MO; daughter, Amy (Greg) Dimberg, Charleston, MS; son, Mike (Jennifer) Denslow, Cairo, MO; grandchildren, Jena Dimberg and fiancé, Gabriel Sachett of Memphis, TN, Cody Dimberg, Oxford, MS, Jacob Denslow , Cairo, MO, and Madelyne Denslow, currently at Wichita Falls, TX; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
A memorial service celebrating Pete’s life has been scheduled for December 3, 2022 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, Huntsville, MO with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
