Phillip Allen Davis, 68, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away November 22, 2020, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Phil was born August 10, 1952, to Frank and Dorothy (Trammell) Davis in Eagleville, Missouri. Phil spent the majority of his life in Missouri. He began to write in grade school and published his first book, The Poetry of Woodland; in 2001. He entered the US Army in 1972 and served until 1975. He enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard and served from 1980 until 1992. He worked as a registered nurse from 1995 until 2008 and then retired. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Eugene Davis. Survivors include his wife Sue (Holloway) Rice of the home, former wife Cindy (McGuire) Davis and their children: son Jason (Sherri) Davis of Macon, Missouri; daughters: Eve Mozingo and Ashley (Wade) Smith, both of Moberly, Missouri; sister, Sandra (Joseph) Hamilton of Gillman City, Missouri; brothers: James (Cindy) Davis of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Leo (Mary) Davis of Trenton, Missouri; sister-in-law Beth (Brent) Heflin of Raymond, Ohio, brothers-in-law: John (Shirley) Holloway of Huber Heights, Ohio, Randy (Sue) Holloway of Plain City, Ohio; 4 Rice stepchildren; 16 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren; an uncle and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cody DeMint officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery at Jacksonville, Missouri.
