Phillip C. Oliver, 69, of Moberly, transitioned to his Heavenly home on December 7, 2021 at home.
Phillip "Pickles" was born December 3, 1952 in Columbia, MO to Fredia Mae Oliver Buckner and Earl Buckner. He attended Columbia public schools and later graduated from high school in Helena, Montana.
Phillip worked as a truck driver for 45 years; for Westlake’s in Moberly and also Gully Transport in Macon.
Phillip was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. He had a big heart and strong work ethic. He loved to watch “The Price is Right”, “Wheel of Fortune”, and the “Andy Griffith” show. He was a great cook and was especially good at preparing BBQ for his friends and family. He would do so no matter the weather - rain, sleet or snow. He adored and loved his grandbabies and great grandbabies. Phillip also always made sure that his children were taken care of. He was a great role model who also gave good advice. He enjoyed feeding his birds, buying lottery tickets and also liked to use his computer to play games and listen to music.
Phillip was a member of Moberly Eagles #2669 for four years, where he enjoyed playing pool and socializing with the members.
Those preceding him in death are his mother and father; his maternal and paternal grandparents; sister, Sabra Buckner; Deborah Ann Dysart (mother of three of his children); aunts, Geneva Oliver McQuary, Joetta Dameron, Peggy Ridge; uncles, Hershel Oliver, Ershel Oliver and Eugene “Gene” Oliver and great aunts, Alberta Price and Eva Stephens.
He is survived by his children; Shawntel (Brent) Sahm, Iowa, Phillip (Charmain) Dysart, Missouri, Yucca Dysart, Moberly, Yolanda Dysart, Alabama, Chris Johnson, Louisiana; grandchildren, Elexus, Rasean, Ja’Sheonna (Sissy Wiss), Teanna, Kobie, Tionna, My’Onna, Jda, Navi (Knobby Knob), Destiny and Darius; great grandchildren; Kynlee, Zariyah, R.J, Luxari, Ky’Lynee, Amondrei, Aryianna, Zavion, Nyla and Kobie Jr.; brothers Earl (Diana) Buckner, Columbia, James Buckner, Kansas City, Melvin (Stephanie) Buckner, Columbia; sister Angel Buckner, Texas; special friends, Charlie and Terry Yancey and Greg Robinson; a host of other friends and extended family.
Funeral services for Phillip will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is from 12:45 p.m. until time of service.
