Quentin Ulrich, 93 of Moberly passed away, Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. Quentin was born to the late Henry J. and Mattie Peterson Ulrich on September 1, 1919 in Campus, Illinois. He served in the U.S Navy from 1944 until 1946 in the 319 Construction Battalion and 3rd NCB Special at Okinawa Navy SeaBee. He began working for the Wabash Railroad in 1937 where he served several positions. He retired as the Operations Director in 1981 after 44 years of service. He was in the restaurant business in Moberly from 1952 until 1959. Quentin was an avid bowler and was inducted into the bowling hall of fame in 2010-2011. Regretfully, this last year was the first year he was not active in bowling league. He was a Legacy member of the VFW post 2654. He married Carrie Belle Walker on December 31, 1962; she preceded him in death on February 9, 2005. Quentin was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ron Wood; granddaughter, Terri John; brother, Walter Ulrich; sisters: Ursula Arthur and Maxine Arthur. He is survived by his daughters: Virginia Skeados of Pembroke Pines, FL; Linda Claypool and husband Richard of Blue Mound, IL; and Kay Wood of Moberly, MO; grandchildren: Mike Wade, Tom Skeados, Chris Skeados, Tiffany Kiehl, Tasha Maasen, and Derek Wood; 17 great grandchildren and first wife, Betty (Leffler) Gillett of Pembroke Pines, FL. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Million Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly. Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jay Self officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests memorials are made to the First Christian Church of Moberly; VFW Post 2654 or charity of donor’s choice.
