Rex J Dunwoody, 93 of Moberly, died on Monday, March 1, 2021. He was born December 16, 1927 in Monroe County, MO to Alva Lester and Corna (Ross) Dunwoody.
Rex served his country in the US Navy at the end of WWII before receiving an honorable discharge.
Rex was a farmer in Moberly before going to work for Uregas and then Mid America Pipeline Co. He retired from MAPCO in Tulsa, OK and moved to Hollister, MO where he lived until 2012. Rex was very active in the Knights of Columbus where he earned the Fourth Degree as Worthy Sir Knight.
Rex married Rose Mary Wegs on June 28, 1950. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a son, Gregory; grandson, Jake Robert Dunwoody; great-granddaughter, Mekena Vanden Brink; four sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his children, Claudia (Hunter) Judson, Grand Rapids, MI, Mark (Connie) Dunwoody, Mead, NB, Lisa (Dave) Vanden Brink of Park City, MT and Matthew (Lisa) Dunwoody of Bennington, NB; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bonnie Dunwoody and Dollie Dunwoody of Moberly and Leta Wilson of California; nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly, MO. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Moberly. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 4 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home.
