Richard Leo Bushnell of Higbee, Missouri passed away peacefully January 22, 2022 at his home.
Richard was born March 7, 1947 to Dorothy Blanch Turner and William Allen Sommerfeld in Guthrie Mills, Missouri.
Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing darts and watching westerns. He retired from Dura Automotive after 17 years.
Richard married Margaret Andrews May 18, 1996 and she survives in the home. Richard is also survived by his children Richard Lee Bushnell of Higbee, MO and Willy Bushnell of Renick, MO; step-children David Andrews of Higbee, MO and Dean & Beth Andrews of Huntsville, MO, Debbie & Jim Gini of Higbee, MO, Dora Redifer of Higbee, MO, Sandra Riggins, Auxvasse, MO; daughter-in-law Michelle Andrews of Higbee, MO; brothers Allen Sommerfeld of Pompano Beach, FL, Glen Sommerfeld of Fort Madison, IA, Randy Sommerfeld of Fort Madison, IA, and Kenny of Fort Madison, IA. He had 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather who raised him Robert Bushnell, 1 sister Patsy, 1 stepson Hoss and 1 great grandchild.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28th, 2022 at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Higbee Lions Club, 502 Grand Ave. Higbee, MO 65257. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.
