Richard Lee Hildebrand, 72, of Moberly, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017, at The Neighborhoods in Columbia, Mo after a short hospital stay.
Richard was born in Mexico, MO August 18, 1944, to Anna Underwood and Forrest Hildebrand, both of whom have preceded him in death. He married Janice Ann Orton November 27, 1969, at Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church and they celebrated 41 years together before her passing. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeana Ann; brother, Raymond Hildebrand and in-laws, Vera Jean and Edwin Orton.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Amy Flennory; grandson, Andre Flennory; granddaughter, MaKaylee Flennory; as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces.
Richard retired from Moberly Area Community College after 27 years as a maintenance engineer and having previously worked for Wal-Mart and Norfolk and Western Railroads. He was a longtime member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being outdoors.
Funeral service for Richard will be Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, followed by interment at New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church, 323 Jefferson Avenue, Moberly, MO 65270.
