Robert Lee Haynie, 84, of Moberly passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at Moberly Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Robert was born September 24, 1933 in Moberly to Herman Haynie and Pearl Freeman Haynie. He was a lifelong resident of the Moberly area. Robert honorably served his country in the United States Army from December of 1953 to December of 1955. He enjoyed collecting and repairing firearms. Robert worked as a police officer for a period of time and then worked for the City of Moberly several years before his retirement.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his son James “Bill” Haynie.
Survivors include his children, Karl and April Haynie of Lafayette, TN, John and Mary Haynie of Texas, Robert Joseph Haynie of New Hampshire and Samantha and Trace McClure of Texas; special granddaughter, Wendy and Geoff Penrod of Jacksonville; numerous additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Graveside services celebrating Robert’s life will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo with full military honors.
