Robert Dan Henderson

Robert Dan Henderson, of Higbee, Missouri was born on November 11^th, 1946, in Union, South Carolina to Walter and Alice Henderson. He died on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at age 75.

He attended Waller High School, Chicago, before joining the U S Army Infantry as a truck driver, later training in telephone exchange repair, generator repair, and U.S. Army retention schools. 

In 1971, he fathered a child with Edith Morgan, Robert Walter James Henderson. In 1977 he married Tomi Marcinne (Griffin) Henderson, and together they had Tara Dawn Henderson in 1979. They divorced in 1985 and Dan married Sandy Lee Henderson in 1987.  Together they raised, Michelle Ann Rader, Christine Ann Clark, Deonne Mercy Brown, and Andrea Marie Stapleton.

Dan worked as a United States Soldier and dedicated himself to his family and country. He served in Vietnam where he was awarded a Purple Heart, in Germany, South Korea and Desert Storm.

A giving soul, Dan never turned away a hungry belly, and was very generous to his family. His most precious and special moments were the success of his family, and that they lived a better life than he endured in his lifetime. He will be greatly missed.

Dan is survived by his life partner Sandy L. Henderson, his ex-Tomi G. Henderson, his son Robert and grandson, Ryan, his daughter, Tara and grandson Jonathan, his bonus daughters, Christine, Deonne, Andrea, and bonus grandchildren, Sandra, Deanna, Dillon, William, Mathew, Iesha, Amber, Deena, Ashley, and Joseph.

In addition to his parents Alice and Walter, he was preceded in death by Michelle Ann Rader.  

A celebration of life with full military honors will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 4:00 pm at The Henderson's Home 4738 County Road 2445 Higbee, Missouri 65257.
