Rodney Comstock

Rodney Emmett Comstock, 72, of Excello, MO, went home to the Lord on February 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Rodney was born September 2, 1945 in Stewartville, MN to Joseph Emmett Comstock and Renata Veronica (Wallner) Comstock. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School in Spring Valley MN, class of 1964. Rodney honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1964-68. He had grown up on a farm, so upon leaving the Air Force, he went to work as a farm hand for four years. He then rejoined the Air Force in 1972 and retired in 1992, dedicating twenty-four years to the service of his country. He enjoyed serving others by volunteering as a firefighter for the d’Iberville, MS fire department and also delivering meals to seniors in Macon. He was also a long-time member of the Methodist church. On September 17, 1966 he married Deanna (Merrill) Comstock in Spring Valley, MN and they enjoyed over 51 years together. Rodney was a member of the Beaux and Belles Square Dancers of Macon, MO. He enjoyed gardening, yard work and working on cars. Rodney loved to travel and was known to be a great cook. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rodney is preceded in death by his father Joseph Comstock. He is survived by his wife Deanna; children, Lisa Comstock Matthews, Norfolk, VA, Keith (Guss Rodriguez) Comstock of Memphis, TN, Brenda (David) Bertucci of Biloxi, MS; grandchildren Holly (Brian) Bowles of Norfolk, VA, Joshua (Bobbilyn) Matthews, of Dickerson, ND, Shawn Bertucci and Sarah Bertucci both of Biloxi, MS; great grandchildren Abigal, Moria and Joanna; mother Renata Comstock; siblings, Renata, Alita, Allen, Verne, Kevin, Caleb and Jeremy; extended family and friends. Services celebrating Rodney’s life will be announced at a future date.
