Rosetta Monell Perkins, 91, formerly of Cairo, passed away at Moberly Nursing and Rehab April 6, 2020. Rosetta was born to Ulysses Dean and Mary Lorene Pryor Dean on February 7, 1929 in Huntsville, MO.
She was united in marriage to William J. Perkins, Sr. in 1946 and he precedes her in death. Rosetta was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Moberly.
Rosetta was a homemaker and a gifted seamstress. She crocheted, quilted, and sewed clothing for her family. She had six daughters and kept them all in clothing she had made. Her son said she had even sewn him a leisure suit one year. She enjoyed playing the guitar and singing also. Rosetta and William especially loved the family get-togethers which they hosted until later in life when the family took over the hosting. She always loved holding the babies.
Those preceding her in death are her parents; husband William; son William J. Perkins Jr.; grandsons William J. Perkins III and Aaron Eldon Perkins; great-grandson Cody Hendren; and sister Virginia Neely.
She is survived by her children; Loretta Perkins, Cairo, Jackie (Phil) Bowden, Cairo, Eva Clark, Moberly, Teresa (Gary) Hendren, Cairo, Sherrie (Tod) Foster, Cairo, John (Kathy) Perkins, Huntsville, Melissa and Bobby Ballow, Renick, Scott (Dawn) Perkins, Huntsville; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren; siblings, Nana Jane Tiberghien, California, MO, Earlene Metheny of Auxvasse, MO, Sonny (Barb) Dean of California, MO, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A private interment will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. A family led memorial will be held at a later date.
