Ruby Drown

Ruby Frances Drown, 85 of Moberly passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. She was born in Yates, MO on October 22, 1932 to Pete Evans and Ruby Goon Evans. Ruby was a graduate of Armstrong High School and moved to Moberly in 1950. She attended Roanoke Presbyterian Church and on September 20, 1953, she married Richard A. Drown in Moberly. Ruby worked for Southwestern Bell for 32 years. She enjoyed playing Canasta with a group of close friends. Ruby was an avid Cardinals fan. She also liked taking car rides and watching the ducks and geese at the park while with her family. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard A. Drown; her sister, Betty Shipley and niece, Debbie Jean Shipley. Survivors include her son, Richard E. Drown of Moberly; her half-sister, Kathy Ward of Illinois; niece, Susan (James) Moody of Jefferson City, MO; nephew, Butch (Debbie) Shipley of Jefferson City, MO and several great nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating Ruby’s life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial visitation will be held the same day from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
