Mrs. Ruby Allen (Hughes) Rucker, daughter of the late Truman R. Hughes and Christine Taylor-Hughes was born January 20, 1935, in Yates, Missouri. She attended Armstrong Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School of Moberly, Missouri.
Ruby professed Christ at an early age and was a member and Church Mother, Second Baptist Church, Huntsville, Missouri. She served as an Usher for many years and was a devoted member of the WMU (Missionary) Dept.
She was united in Holy matrimony to Russell I. Rucker, Sr in December,1954. He proceeded her in death on December13, 1989. He would frequently serenade her with his favorite song, Larry Graham’s “One In a Million You”. Their union was blessed with seven children.
Mrs. Rucker was employed in many industries, but her most cherished was at Moberly Junior College Daycare. She was a member of the Huntsville Historical Society providing tours and information. Ruby also enjoyed volunteering as a bell-ringer for the Salvation Army.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Carl E. Rucker of Moberly, Missouri, Laurence E. Rucker of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert A Rucker (LaSaundra) of Columbia, Missouri, Marchelle R. Rucker-Fugate of Moberly, Missouri, and Christopher D. Rucker (Lynda) of Moberly, Missouri. Beloved niece, Linda Huges of Germany, nephew, Rodney Huges of Columbia Missouri, son-in-law, James Brown of Huntsville, Missouri. Also, her grandchildren: Aaron Brown, Marcus Fugate, William Brown, Brendan Fugate, Bobby Brown, Dylan Rucker, Courtney Rucker, and Jordan Rucker. Ruby also enjoyed spending time with her twelve great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ruby was proceeded in death by a son, Russell I. Rucker, Jr., and a daughter, Brenda K. Brown.
A Funeral service celebrating Ruby’s life has been scheduled for Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., at the Huntsville Second Baptist Church in Huntsville with interment to follow at Huntsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 26, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
