Russell Wayne Maddox, 62, of Huntsville, passed away at his home on May 6, 2016. Russell was born April 14, 1954 in Clarence, MO, the son of Lloyd and Maxine Grammer Maddox. He attended Clarence and South Shelby Schools and served in the United States Army. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 22 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, RZR riding in Eagle Rock, MO, rabbit hunting and lake time at Table Rock and Thomas Hill Lakes. He would do anything to help anyone he could. Russell is survived by his wife, Angie Pottebaum Maddox of the home; one son, Lige Pottebaum (Amanda) of Columbia; one grandson, Brayden; brother Bob (Linda) Maddox of New Cambria; sisters Sheryl Martin of Macon, Carol (Mike) Applegate of Huntsville, Shelia (Dan) Fair of Bevier; in-laws Joe and Madge Pottebaum of Higbee; sisters-in-law Jane (Rob) Clark, of Higbee, Amy Pottebaum (Rick), of Higbee, Verna Fleetwood, of Glasgow, Karen (Harold) Fuemmeler, of Huntsville; brother-in-law Michael Pottebaum of Higbee, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Richie Maddox and Randy Maddox and a nephew, Carl Pillers II. Service for Russell will be Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly followed by interment in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with full military honors. Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Higbee Senior Center, 205 Railroad Street, Higbee, MO 65257 would be appreciated.
