Ruth L. Rodgers

Ruth Lenora Rodgers, 93, of Warrensburg, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the Western Missouri Medical Center.

She was born April 30, 1929, in Sarcoxie, MO, to Roy Benjamin Rice and Mary Sophia Burggraf Rice. She graduated from Lamar High School.

Ruth married Elmer Eugene “Gene” Rodgers on June 1, 1947. They had four children, Derryl, Sharron, David, and Douglas. Ruth was a homemaker who loved to cook, grow flowers, and crochet. She was a long-time resident of Moberly, MO, and member of the West Park United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death, her husband Elmer Eugene “Gene” Rodgers, her daughter Sharron Meyers, her grandson Jarad Arnold, her great grandson Jacob Rodgers, and her siblings; Richard Rice, Edward Rice, Raymond Rice, Evert Rice, Essie Rice, Margaret Stockdale, Clara Cline, and Opal Davis.

She is survived by her children Derryl Rodgers (Connie) of Carlsbad, CA, David Rodgers (Susan), Douglas Rodgers (Debra) of Warrensburg, MO, son-in-law, David Meyers of Clarksville, MO, 13 grandchildren: Jennifer Rodgers, Sara Piland, Brenda Heinen (Sean), Franklin Arnold (Dawn), Lori Burbridge (Steven), Heather Meyers (Corey), Darron Rodgers (Jessy), Dustin Rodgers (Casey), Scott Winkler, Mandy Payne (Mike), Ellen Carmack (James), Becky Rodgers, Cameron Hays, 25 great grandchildren,12 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, MO. Interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, MO.
