Sandra Kay Hickam, 63, of Huntsville, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at her home. She was born January 17, 1952 in Kettering, OH to Carl Hill and Faye Archer Hill.
Sandra or Sandy as she was called by her friends and family, was a devoted mother. She had a son, Joseph McGuire from her first marriage. Then, thank goodness, she met Everett Hickam at Toastmaster. Everett saw scrawny Sandy during breaks and lunches (when she had no food). Being the kind hearted person he is, he would walk by and often toss her a candy bar. In 1974 they married in Arkansas and Sandy gained a step-son, Ronald Dean Hickam from Everett’s first marriage. They continued to add to their family first with Larry (Hickam) McGuire and wife Kelly, of Huntsville, then, Angela (Hickam) Perkins and husband Sam of Jacksonville and finally Michael Hickam and wife Janessa of Huntsville, Mo.
Sandy was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and she wanted to share the Bible with others. She was always passionate about helping others. Sandy loved spending time with her family, fishing with Everett and reading and playing cards with her grandchildren. Her family never doubted her love for them because she always told them how much they meant to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Patty Hill.
Survivors include, her husband, her children, her grandchildren; Jessi Pangborn, Timothy (TJ) Hickam, Tara Hickam, Ronnie Hickam, Matthew Kroeckel, Tyler Kroeckel, Jesse Perkins, Emily Perkins, Mikayla Hickam, Ethan Hickam and Connor Hickam as well as seven beloved great grandchildren.
Services celebrating Sandy’s life will held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2090 Hwy JJ, Moberly, MO.
