Sharon Denise Haak, 63, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, after a short illness. Sharon was born December 10, 1953, the daughter of Elbert and Mildred (Major) Haak. Sharon graduated from Moberly High School and Moberly Junior College. Sharon worked for 30 years at Everlast Gymnasium Company.
Sharon loved bells, cardinals, and Wal-Mart. Sharon was an animal lover who was a firm believer in kindness to animals, especially shelter animals. She took care of Barney and adopted Lucky and gave him a happy forever home.
Sharon is survived by two sisters, Gayle Haak and Karen Haak; two brothers, Karl Haak and Kenny (Linda) Haak; five nieces, Theresa (Stephen) Hyatt, Karla Haak, Stacy Ingersoll, Kelly (Cory) Harding, and Lindsay (Matt) Overfelt; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a good friend, Joan Betchwars. Sharon is also survived by many friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Judy Haak Hunt and Deborah Haak; brother, Randy Haak; sister-in-law, Sharon Haak and nephew, Frank Ingersoll.
Sharon was a supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 and the Central Missouri Humane Society, 616 Big Bear Blvd., Columbia, MO 65202. It would make Sharon very happy if, in lieu of flowers, donations were made to these two organizations.
No visitation will be held at Sharon’s request and her family will hold a private service on Friday, January 13, 2017. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home.
