Stephen “Steve” K. Wright, 67, formerly of St. Louis passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his home in Moberly, Missouri. Steve was born June 3, 1947 in Moberly, Missouri to Woodrow Wallace and Rita Mae (Birdsell) Wright. Steve proudly served the United States Army from 1966 until 1969 where he received the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Service Stars; and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He married Teresa Ward on August 31, 1974 and recently celebrated 40 years together. Steve worked as a Mechanical Maintenance man for Alco Control for over 40 years. Steve was proud to serve God and he put in several years of service for church bus ministry. He was best known later in life for his "Cards of Encouragement". He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Wright of Moberly; son, Stephen D. Wright and wife Wendy of Madison; daughter, Rita Marie Wright Smith and husband Dan of Belleville, Illinois; brother, Randy Wright and wife Tammy of Macon; sister, Denise Kryzsko and husband Pat of Winfield, Missouri; grandchildren: Anthony Wright, Randy James, Julia Smith, Miranda Wright; Dane Smith, and Chad Rozelle. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 5:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m at Million Taylor Funeral Homes with Pastor Vince Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri with Military Honors. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: The American Heart Association or a Veteran's organization.
