Steven Mark Powell, 60, of Columbia, passed away at his home on Monday, March 30, 2015.
He was born June 23, 1954 in Amarillo, TX to Ira “Rocky” and Leila “Cindy” (Bohner) Powell. Steve attended school in Columbia, MO and later relocated to the Moberly area where he resided for 36 years. He liked softball and played for the Moberly Chiefs in the early 80’s. Steve was an avid golfer having played the game his entire life and also liked to do a little hunting and fishing. However, the thing he enjoyed above all else was spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ira Powell and a brother, Howard Powell.
Survivors include his mother, Cindy Curtis of Columbia, MO; his children, Nathan and Mandy Powell of Moberly, MO, Claire and Adam Potter of Springfield, MO and Leslie and Joe Keleher of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Lauryn, Kemper, and Kellen Powell of Moberly, MO, Bennett Potter of Springfield, MO, and Brayden Morgan and Emery Keleher of Moberly, MO; and brothers, Alan Powell of Lindstrom, MN and Dan Powell of West Plains, MO.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Steve’s life will take place on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, MO.
