Terry Lee Painter, 63, of Higbee passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his home. Terry was born to Vernon Oscar “Bob” and Eva Mae (McElhiney) Painter on March 30, 1951 in Paris, Missouri. Terry married Rita Hamilton on October 23, 1970. He worked for the Boonville Correctional Facilities as the Stationary Engineer and loved his position there. He owned Myers Transmission Service in Moberly for many years. Terry loved to cook and to Bar-B-Que for which he won awards. He had a big heart but was known to tell it like it was and you always knew how he felt. Terry enjoyed working on cars and fishing. He was a Mason in the Higbee Masonic Lodge. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anna Mae Painter Hardwick, and brothers: Frank Darrell Painter and Robert Eugene Painter. He is survived by his wife, Rita Painter of Higbee; daughter, Michelle LeGrand and husband Aaron of Higbee; granddaughter: Alexandra LeGrand of Higbee; great granddaughter on the way; brother, Ronnie Sidney Painter and wife Lorraine of Paris; sisters: Mary Rosetta Freeman and husband Leon of Madison, Lola Meryle Mudd of Monroe City, and Nelda Elaine Doran of Kansas City; mother-in-law, Goldie Hamilton; brother-in-law, Gary Hamilton and wife Anne; and his beloved Buddy (dog). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 5:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Home of Higbee with Masonic Services at 8:00 p.m . Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Eichenberger and Pastor Nancy Kellstrom officiating. Burial will follow at the Higbee Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital care of Higbee Trail Ride.
