Theresa Marie Hopkins, 89, of Moberly, passed away July 7, 2014 at Moberly Nursing and Rehab surrounded by her family. Theresa was born October 12, 1924 in Moberly to Albert Schmidt and Christine Heddinghaus Schmidt. She was a lifelong resident of Moberly, was educated in the Moberly schools and was a member of St. Pius X. On February 22, 1944 she married Levi Hopkins at St. John’s Rectory in Moberly. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for St. Pius and also for a local attorney. Theresa and her husband owned and operated the Urban Package Store for twelve years. Theresa served on the Board of Directors of Moberly Senior Center and was active in her church as a member of a prayer group and volunteering for an adoration hour. She loved to travel with her family and to camp and boat with her kids. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, two sons-in-law, Tracy Winkler and Robert Schultz, a granddaughter, Sara Kreckman, a sister Rita Theis and a brother, Leo Schmidt. Survivors include her brother Herbert Schmidt of Moberly; children David Hopkins ( Debra) of Bulter, Missouri; Stephen Hopkins (Roxana) of San Antonio, Tx, Susan Hanley (Doug) , Connie Schultz, Chrissy Bosecker and husband Jonn (Bo) all of Moberly, seventeen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Services will be Wednesday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Moberly with entombment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Church. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the St. Pius X Foundation, P. O. Box 310, Moberly, MO. Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
