Thomas “Tommie” Joseph McGee, 86, of Holliday, MO, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on October 4, 2017. Tommie was born in Holliday April 20, 1931 to George Arthur McGee and Mae Marie Blackaby. He was united in marriage to Ella May Howell in Moberly on the 22nd day of November in 1951 and they had 65 wonderful years together.
Tommie worked as a press changer for A.P. Greens for over 30 years but his true passion was farming. He and Ella May were proud of their farm located between Holliday and Madison. Tommie was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting with his bird dogs, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jimmy and Bobby McGee; two sisters, a brother, a grandson, Rick Stephenson and nephew, Billy McGee.
Tommie is survived by his wife, Ella May; daughter, Cathy (Chris) Schreiber of Glasgow, daughter-in-law, Brenda McGee of Holliday, daughter, Becky (Jerry) King of Warrenton, daughter, Debbie (Greg) Griffin of Moberly, daughter-in-law, Amy McGee of Richmond, son, Tony McGee of Holliday, daughter, Pam (Jeff) Canzoneri of Columbia; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; numerous niece, nephews, extended family and friends.
A graveside service for Tommie will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Holliday, MO.
