Timothy E. Whisenand, age 59, of Higbee, MO passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, peacefully at home with his loving wife, Missi, by his side. Tim passed away after a lengthy illness of diabetes and liver failure.
Tim was born in Fayette, MO on July 13, 1964, to Ernest and Judy Whisenand. He married Melissa Dennis in the fall of 1986. They recently celebrated 37 years of marriage.
Tim was a hard worker. He held several positions in his lifetime. He worked for Food Barn/Safeway and the Missouri Highway Department. Tim graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy in 2000, while working for the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department as a jailer. After graduation he began his Law Enforcement Career as a road deputy and Tim retired as a Sergeant with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department in May 2023. During his service to Randolph County, he made lifetime friends, impacted many lives and as many of his fellow officers would say, Tim brought a special calm to every storm/call. He was chosen Law Enforcement Officer of the Year in 2018.
He was a collector of guns and knives. He enjoyed offering gunsmithing services. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. His joy was working on the farm and the numerous wildlife, especially his beloved cats. Tim was a good man, quiet but his positive actions always spoke for him and showed his goodness. He was always known for never turning down a trip to Taco John’s.
Tim is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Whisenand and his father-in-law, Ronnie Dennis.
Tim is survived by his wife, Missi, his mother, Judy Whisenand, brothers, Dan (Sharron) Whisenand, his beloved baby brother, James “Wolf” (Shelly) Whisenand, a special niece (honorary daughter) Ronni (Nate) West, sisters-in-law, Penny (Doug) Bennett, Stacie (Lee) Bollman, brother-in-law, Aaron (Beth) Dennis, mother-in-law, Linda Dennis, nieces and nephews, Mark Whisenand, Preslee and Jack Brubaker, Nat (Monika) Stoebe, Kyle Bollman, Jalyn (Corey) Smith, Brady Bollman, Audrey Traster, great nieces and nephews, Lily and Bennett Stoebe, Jameson, Maverick and Morgen Cooper, Mackton West, Carter and Jordan Smith and an Uncle Robert Whisenand.
Per Tim’s request, there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at the Higbee Cemetery later. If desired, a donation may be made to the Higbee Senior Center, 205 S. Railroad Street, Higbee, MO 65257.
