Tona Court

Tona Lea Court, 72, of Moberly, passed away at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO on January 6, 2018. Tona was born to Howard Thornburg and Lura Wanda Cupp Thornburg in Moberly, MO on June 21, 1945. She attended Terrill School, Moberly Public Schools and Moberly Area Community College before earning her Bachelor’s Degree, in accounting, from Truman University in Kirksville. On February 25, 1966 she was united in marriage to Dan Court and he survives of the home. Tona was a member of Central Christian Church in Moberly. She and Dan were active members of the Moberly Historical Society and Tona assisted Judy Orton in putting together Moberly’s Sesquicentennial book. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and keeping in touch with family and friends through the internet. The class of 1962 will surely miss her, as she was their class reunion planner. Tona was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Dan, children, Jennifer (Kris) Neuendorf of O’Fallon and Christopher Court of St. Louis; grandchildren Savannah Burfield, Mason Burfield and Toby Neuendorf all of O’Fallon and Elizabeth Court of St. Louis; siblings Ty (Debbie) Thornburg of Fairview, TN and Thane (Michelle) Thornburg of Rogers, AR; extended family and friends. Visitation for Tona will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Central Christian Church, 201 South 4th Street, Moberly, MO.
