Velda Wilson

Velda Joleen (Hicks) Wilson, age 71, of Moberly MO, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on April 4, 2024, at South Hampton Rest House in Columbia, Missouri. She was born on October 21, 1952, in Moberly, Missouri, to James (Jim) Hicks and Virginia (Ginger) Vawter. She graduated from Moberly High School

She met and married Randy Wilson on March 24, 1972, in Moberly, Missouri. She was a member of the North Park Baptist Church. She was the best wife and a gentle soft-hearted person. She enjoyed antiquing, yard sailing, shopping for bargains, reading, crafting, playing video games, playing cards, and collecting Knick knacks. Her family and friends will remember her as a fair, gentle, kind person who was also a great cook. She loved being with people. Velda also had a special sense of humor. She loved and enjoyed her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She always made a house a home wherever her and her husband went. 

Velda is survived by her husband, Randy Wilson; daughter, Nicole Wilson, sister, Mary Stanton, son, Maxwell and Aunt Dorothy Taylor, grandchildren, Cortez King, Trina King, LaDontae Hyler and 5 great grandchildren, cousin, Richard (Jeanie) Hicks. 

We will miss her dearly.
