Vera Jean Green, 88, of Moberly passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Jean was born to Donald and Lena (Whitchurch) Vier on April 27, 1927 in Lamar, Missouri. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1945. On January 1st 1946 she and Norman Roy Green were married and on October 9th of 1946 she had their only son, Norman Richard. She was a resident of Moberly for over 40 years. She and her husband, Norman were former owners of Western Auto in Moberly. In former years, Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Wick Building Systems and Bogie Pump. She was a member of Silver Bells, Moose Lodge, American Business Women's Association, Eastern Star of Jefferson City and Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church where she was associated with many groups. She also dedicated her time at MRMC as a volunteer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Roy Green; son, Norman Richard Green; and brother Donald Vier. Jean is survived by her grandsons: Tony Green and wife Tonya of Moberly, MO, and Tommy Green of Wood River, IL; great grandchildren: Cody Green, Aaron Green, Corbin Galland, Johnathan Galland, Kaylyn Green, and Taylor Green; brother, Ted Vier and wife Rose of Nevada, IA; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church in Moberly with Pastors Jim and Jane Crooks officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Homes.
