Vera Siebuhr, 87, of Moberly, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015.
She was born March 3, 1928 in Springfield, Illinois to John Maxwell Burgess and Mary Burns Burgess. She married Clarence Siebuhr in Divernon, Illinois in 1949 and they moved to Moberly in 1966. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2014. Vera was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing. She raised dogs for several years and also taught at the prison. She worked at A. B. Kelly, Ben Franklin and I.G.A. in addition to helping with the family farm operation and raising her family. She and her husband were also the owners of Roosevelt Liquor for several years. Vera was an avid sports fan and especially fond of college football. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Vera is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her children; Kerry (Don) Burkett of Moberly, Marsha (Joe) Landers of Auburn, IL, Rose Henry of Desloge, Mo, Max Siebuhr (Kim) of Moberly and Carl Siebuhr of Moberly; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Services for Vera will be Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church in Moberly followed by interment in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Visitation will be Monday, November 9, 2015 from10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m at the church.
