William Omer Buckman

William Omer Buckman, age 73 of Moberly, MO went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2023.  Omer was born on September 16, 1949, to William Robert Buckman and Virginia Rosalee Whiston Buckman.

God was number one in Omer’s life and was called to be with Him in his eternal home.  As a disciple of Jesus Christ, Omer wanted others to know that was the only way to heaven and was concerned for their eternal life.

Omer had to be busy doing something, so God blessed him with knowledge of how things worked.  He used that knowledge to help his family and friends to build, fix things, and as Jim said, do what needed to be done.  When he was in the house, he was the cook and dishwasher.  When grandsons Andrew and Seth were small Omer was their proud full-time babysitter.  His perseverance was like none other, Omer was determined to overcome any challenges that he encountered.

Omer married Kathy Roberts on April 1, 1977.  He honorably served his country in the United States Navy and went on to retire from Norfolk Southern Railway.

Omer is survived by his wife Kathy, son, Casey Buckman (Misty), grandchildren Andrew, Seth, Batinah, daughter, Ericka Price (Bret), grandchildren Araya, Alli, and Asher.  Also surviving are 5 sisters, Aneta Bower, Madelyn Wilson (James), Alice Thomas, Sara Turner (Scott), Maria Tickner, brother Jack Buckman (Shelly), sisters-in-law, Irene Roberts, Juanita Schnelle (Carl), and close friends Jim Hawkins and Doug Buckman.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. A visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at Antioch Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri.
