William Joseph “Joe Bill” Dennis, 66 of Higbee passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Joe Bill was born to the late Thomas Glenn and Leta (Adams) Dennis on July 21, 1946 in Higbee, MO. Joe Bill was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed having them all over for dinner and grilling. He was a big story teller, loved golf, woodworking,and pheasant hunting. He was a great gardener and loved entertaining his grandkids and great grandkids, who were the love of his life. He was a member of the Higbee Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Ararat Shrine. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Johnnie, Tommy, and Harold, sisters: Joanne, Dianne, Wynnette, Jeannette, and Wanda. Joe Bill is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dora (Justus) Dennis; daughters, Beth Oakes (Tim) of Mexico, MO, and Kristina “Krissy” Bosley (Kenny) of Thompson Station, TN; brothers: Ronnie Dennis (Linda) of Higbee, JD Dennis (Vee) of Moberly, MO, Sam Dennis of Clark, MO, Mike Dennis of Conroe, TX, and Bobby Murray ; sisters: Suzanne Rowley (Gary) of Knoxville, IA, Judy Barela (Roger) of Centralia, MO, Marcia Dennis of Reno, NV, and Betty Ellis, and Shirley Jones ; grandchildren: Cassidy Yung, Jordan Richards, and Emma Bosley; great grandchildren: Tristan Kistler, Angeleigh Kistler, and Brynlee Richards, cousin, William “Buddy” Dennis and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Home of Moberly with Masonic services held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m in the chapel of Million Taylor Funeral Home with John Spilman and Eric Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at the Higbee City Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorials be made to the Shriners Children Hospital.
