William Edward Fleming

William “Bill” Edward Fleming departed on April 12^th, 2023, the one who held our hands, walked through the tide hunting flounder, fixed our doors, wiped our tears, raised our children, saved our animals, fought our battles, and prayed our prayers. He was dad, uncle, the greatest of grandpas and friend. In another life he flew across the world, closed his eyes, exhaled, and said, “I love you.” His memory is dancing on treetops, dipping its toes in the clouds, and telling us he has not died but departed.

Bill is now celebrating with his brother, Duane, his grandson, Jonah and his co-pilot, Fred.

To his beloved wife Judy, of sixty-six years, his sister Carol, his three children, Roberta, Robert, and Carrie, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, “Grab a handful of life and run with it and I’ll catch you on the fly.”

Long live the beauty that comes down, through and onto all of us from the sounds of Bill Fleming’s deep belly laughter and his full-face smile.

Family, friends and acquaintances (whom we know he had many) please join us for a military inurnment at Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri on June 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, we will be gathering together for conversations, stories and snacks at Karma’s Kafe from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (669C N. Morley Moberly, MO 65270) If you have a photo or a written story you would like to bring, we will have a board for it to be placed on as we will be creating a scrapbook for Judy.
