William Clay Gibler

William Clay Gibler, 88, of Moberly passed away Monday, September 29, 2014 at the Valley View Health and Rehabilitation. William was born to Clair and Evalena (Potter) Gibler on February 26, 1926 in Thompson, Missouri. His first marriage was to Marie Imogene Summers in 1943 and then later married Dorothy Hard in 1965. He retired from the Moberly Fire Department as a Lieutenant after 35 years of service. William was a member of the North Park Baptist Church. Being surrounded by nature was his love and included hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved animals especially his purebred mutt, Jetta and was quite sure he was the smartest dog around. William was a good Christian man and will be missed by his family. He is survived by his sons: Preston and wife Kenna Gibler of Moberly, Missouri, Udel and wife Jennene Gibler of Hopedale, Massachusetts; grandchildren: Kevin and wife Rhonda Gibler, Jody Gibler, Stephen Gibler, Paul Gibler, and Gina Gibler; great-grandchildren: Kelsie Gibler, Haylie Gibler, Kendall Gibler, Brody Gibler, and Jaden Mocumbi. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Imogene Summers, wife, Dorothy Gibler; brother, Raymond Gibler; grandson, Chris Gibler. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 5:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Gard officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to North Park Baptist Church and Moberly Missouri Animal Shelter.
