William Francis Overfelt, known to many as Bill, passed away at age 70 on March 8, 2019 after a long illness. He was surrounded by love with his lifelong companion, Judy Hopper and other close friends, nearby.
Bill was a very giving and helpful person. He was a very charming man.
Bill loved to bake pies that would melt in your mouth. They had to look perfect. Along with keeping a perfect lawn, he was a carpenter at one point in his life, where he worked at Wick Homes. He was an over-the-road truck driver and called his truck “My Big Truck”. To know Bill was to love him. He loved to play guitar and sing country music and dance. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family. We have lost a great man.
Bill wanted to share some words of comfort to his friends.
My Dear Loving Family and Friends: I am finally at peace. I was called home going to see a lot of loved ones and friends. What joy! Please remember me with a smile and the love that I shared with so many of you for so many years.
Bill is survived by his lifelong companion, Judy Hopper of Moberly; his only son Kent and Tracy Overfelt of Sturgeon; granddaughter Taylor and Michael Templeton of Centralia and great grand-daughter Avelyn Templeton of Centralia; grandson Jordan Overfelt of Branson, and Arron Davison of Springfield; brother Gary and wife Beverly Overfelt of Higbee, sister, Joyce and husband Darrell Ridgway of Clark and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
