William Henry "Jr" Rogers, 93, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Macon Health Care Center. Jr was born March 14, 1925, in rural Randolph County to Henry C. and Elma (Halterman) Rogers. He graduated from Macon High School in 1943. During WWII, Jr served in the U.S. Navy, surviving the sinking of the USS Johnston during the Battle for Leyte Gulf and was honorably discharged in 1945. During his career, he worked for McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) of St. Louis where he retired. Jr was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Elma Halterman Rogers; sisters: Reta Fifer and Juanelle Edwards; and brother, Chester Rogers. Survivors include his sister, Eloise Keller of Moberly; nephews: Kirk (Kim) Keller of Columbia, Roger Keller of Fort Madison, Iowa; nieces: Sue (Tom) Hackett of Moberly, Karen Edwards of Kansas, Susan Edwards of Kansas, and Anita (Gary) McAllister of Jacksonville; as well as numerous other relatives. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 3, 3018, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Moberly, Missouri under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly.
