William Keven Stein

William Keven Stein, age 89 of Moberly, MO passed away on April 7, 2023, at Aspire Senior Living Center.  Keven was born on September 1, 1933, in Renick, MO to William Shelton Stein and Ethelene Goosey Stein.  He graduated from Moberly High School and went on to attend Moberly Jr. College.

Keven honorably served his country stateside in the United States Army from 1950 until 1953.  He married Frances Nadine Slaughter on November 10, 1951, in Moberly, MO.  He worked as a switchman and brakeman for the railroad retiring from there.  His family and friends will always remember the summer camping trips at Thomas Hill Lake, family trips to Disneyland, and visits to family in Nevada. Keven also enjoyed his outdoors time hunting, fishing and looking for arrowheads.

Keven is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Vicky Stein Haggard, son-in-law Jimmy Haggard, brothers, Bernell Stein and DeWayne Stein, and nephew, Kevin Stein. 

Survivors include his wife, Frances of Moberly, MO, daughters, Kevelyn (Bill) Huntsman of Liberty, MO, Paula (Scott) Naylor of Irving, TX, and son William D. (Leah) Stein of Moberly, MO.  Grandchildren, Luke Haggard of Jefferson City, MO, Jordan (Nathan) Holtzclaw of Columbia, MO, Hannah (Tyler) Price of Moberly, MO, William M. (Azalee) Stein of Moberly, MO., Great Grandchildren, Fyuree, Gracie, Gaberiel, and Bobby Haggard, Ezekiel and Lydia Price, Samuel and Matilda Holtzclaw, Titus and Aubrielle Joanna Stein. He is also survived by a niece, Michelle Brooks (Jon) of Moberly, and Mitchell Stein Sr. (Penny Castle) of Reseda, CA as well as other great nieces and nephews in California.

A Memorial Service commemorating Keven’s life has been scheduled for April 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel, Moberly, MO.  Visitation will be held April 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.  Donations may be sent to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Keven’s memory.
