Wretha M. Davis, 86 of Kansas City, Mo, passed away June 13, 2018 at her home. She was born March 20, 1932 in Mexico, MO to Wilbur Newbrough and Lillie Pearl Austin Newbrough.
Wretha was a graduate of Madison High School and later worked as an accountant for AT&T. On October 13, 1951 she married James Frank Davis and they spent many wonderful years together camping, fishing and traveling. She was a collector of many things but especially owls, Longaberger baskets and Fenton Glass. Wretha was also a sports fan and enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs; however, her favorite athletes were her children and then her grandchildren. She rarely ever missed a game!
Wretha is proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Davis; two sons, Dennis Davis and Frank Davis and siblings, Ray Bernard, Anna Pearl, Hugh, Myrtle, Arlene, Roy and Dean.
Survivors include her children, Chris Davis and wife Mary, Major Davis and wife Dina all of Kansas City, MO and Ashley Kilgore and husband Aaron of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Eric Davis and wife Samantha of Olathe, KS, Brian Davis and wife Rachel of Grantsville, UT, Rochelle Davis, Nathan Davis, Katy Davis, Randy Davis, Thomas Davis, Dustin Davis, Gabe Davis, Brenna Davis, Mason Davis, Jessa Day all of Kansas City, MO, Ethan Kilgore and Logan Kilgore both of Moberly, MO; great grandchildren, Adelaide Kirkpatrick of Kansas City, MO, Freya Davis of Grantsville, UT, Dennis Lee Davis of Olathe, KS and Xavier Davis of Kansas City, MO; brother, Carl Newbrough and wife Pauline of Moberly, MO; extended family and friends.
Services celebrating Wretha’s life will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, MO with inurnment to follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
